Aww hon....I've lost about 20 animals in my life....all dear to me....I'm not giving sympathy...but I'm saying I understand how it feels...

I just lost two of my pets in the last year, so I know what you are going through. It is a hard thing to bear. But the thing that helped me is that I knew they had a nice long life, and that I got to share as much time with them as I could. I hope you and your dog had many happy years together, and that he will go peacefully. Another thing that helped me get through everything, and I hope this will help you too, is remembering the fact that your separation from them is only temporary. You will see them again, eventually.

Thank you. I wish I could say he had a nice long life but he was a puppy mill rescue and his body has failed him at 9. The years we had were wonderful though.

Well at least you know he is going to go a happy mutt, since he got to share all those wonderful years with you.
