I'm doing a NaNoWriMo project and am having similar troubles. Here's what I've learned so far:

By submitting a story, you'll have options to upload text files. Most files (.rtf, .doc) do not appear automatically and must be downloaded by the viewer. Naturally, this raises some suspicion. I've been copy-pasting my story text into the artist comments section, which allows for quite a lot of text to be printed. I upload the .rtf for completeness.

The better solution, though, is probably to use raw .txt files, which do open automatically in the artist submission section, leaving you room for your own comments. FA has its own set of styling macros, which can be found at Yak's page.

It is probably subconsciously based off a Saluki XD I adore sighthounds, they influence a lot of my canine based species. Thanks again!
