Basically, someone Romney supported made a comment about pregnancies resulting from rape being a "Blessing" from God.

Romeny claims to not support this guy...but doesn't actually withdraw his support.

Yeah, Richard Mourdock made that comment. What's ironic is that he was running for Senate... of Indiana, my home state. It's that comment he made, about how life from rape was something God intended to happen, that made me vote not only against him, but also against Romney as well as Mike Pence. I refuse to vote for anyone who makes those kind of comments or supports someone who does. Mourdock shot himself multiple times in the foot with that one remark, and it came back to bite him in the ass. Karma can be a bitch, don't you think?

I'll play devil's advocate here since the guy is a douchebag, but generally his argument comes down to: It's not the baby's fault that the mother went through a horrible experience. Why should he/she be the one to pay the penalty? That brings us to neverending messy arguments about whether life begins at conception, whether a mother's body can morally be held hostage to something against her decision, regardless if it will save a life, and the yelling begins anew.

I think he overestimated the influence of the pro-rape vote.

A lot of people still voted for him, though. Kinda surprised me.

I never expected him to win, and yet I'm surprised by who among my friends still voted for him.

Don't forget about him talking about poor people to with that remark he said that got caught on a hidden camera. He wasn't going to win when he said that. The things on women just made it worse.

Seeing this now, I'm surprised that Romney got as many electoral votes as he did...
