Gay marriage is MARRIAGE!
Yesterday, whereas Americans were deciding about their next 4 years (Congrats to Obama and his followers! ), here, in Spain, had a debate in the constitutional court about if the Gay Marriage approved seven years ago was or not constitutional (due to a resource put by the conservative "popular party", which says that the gay marriage was against our constitution).
The fact is that Gay Marriage has been declared constitutional for a wide majority. The most conservative people of my country can cry and moan as much as they want: Now is MARRIAGE (as has been in the last seven years), in the same way, with same rights and obligations than the heterosexual marriages. We're not citizens of second class
I love to see how human rights are spreading for the world!

Gracias!
Anyway, good luck, and I hope Obama does a good work in the next 4 years, and legalice it!
Equality was practically unthinkable [b]here[b/] in the 90s and gay men were continually pursued and entrapped. It amazes me how much public opinion has changed since then. Voters went in favor of equality in two or three states for the first time in this election. Every time civil rights were put on the ballot before they voted for hate. Things are really changing.
I'm really fortunate to live in NY where there's already marriage equality. The rest of the country needs it, fron the courts because it's right, not by anyone's vote. If rights were put to a vote black Americans would still be going to segregated schools and public facilities and wouldn't have the right to vote.
When some people will learn to see all the people without differences? Is much more the things we have in common!
¡Vamos, una mala gripe que habia que pasar para que quede inmunizado!
Also, your argument is a falacy: A problem that never is solved because "there is always something more important to do".
So no, it's not sad. Sad is to follow with discriminations towards a part of the population.
Here in Minnesota, we barely managed to keep an anti-gay-marriage amendment added to our state constitution. Gay marriage is still illegal due to other laws, but at least this is a first step in the right direction.
The USA also had two states approve gay marriage in a popular vote (and another one hasn't been announced yet, but is possible)! Which is a first worldwide, and I am absolutely ecstatic about it. Sadly, i live no where near either of them.
California had it first - but it was repealed - CT has had it a long time -
as do a few others - but NY getting it and keeping it - will set the standard for
the rest of the country here in the U.S.
Congrats too, my Canadian buddy!
Wonderful pie!
That was one of the reasons that I voted for Obama, because he's not against gay marriage. :3
