Kung Fu Panda

I just got back from Kung Fu Panda - I was basically expecting sort of a "Over the Hedge" level entry, you know, a few memorable jokes but basically forgettable, but Kung Fu Panda was way better than I was expecting.
Yes, the plot was utterly predictable and by the numbers, but you don't go to a Kung Fu Comedy for the plot. You go for the Kung Fu and, you know, the comedy, and it delivered on both.
The animation was excellent, but the movie started off with this not-quite Okami-esqu 3D gone 2D stylized cartoon, and I kind of wish the movie had stuck with that. I miss 2D animation. :(
Oh and there is that whole anthropomorphized animals bit. But anyway. It's good.

And more on the way...
Story. Predictable. Doesn't mean that it took that prediction to the limit, and made it 'excellent' :D
The only difference in the story I would have liked would have been if the villain had been redeemed...but I guess that's just a soft spot for me. Made me want to re-watch Kung Fu Hustle, though.
"Yeah a little. With all the punching."
"Yeah my bad. Let's get noodles. I'll buy."
"Hey I know just the place."
Okay, not JUST like that - I mean, they'd have to have Tai Lung actually make amends for destroying the town and all the other things he did - but that would be the perfect way to end the movie, right before the credits roll.
Ah, well...they are making a sequel, so maybe we'll get to see it then, I hope.
