R.I.P. Tablet :( :( Commissioners please read!

ARGH BRAAAAGH WAAAH FFFFFFF
Super sadface. :(
Last night, just after wrapping up a work session, my tablet pen fell out of my lap and hit the floor. Like it's done a few times, right?
Only this time, the little metal bracket on the inside of the pen - which forms the holster and the circuit to draw power from the battery - snapped clean off. Caused by metal fatigue over four years of swapping out batteries, since in an effort to save on battery life (I guess I was trying really hard to save that 12$/year on batteries >.>)
So, needless to say, this is a bit of a setback for my current commission queue. I have ordered a new tablet just now, though! Unfortunately it wasn't available at any store within a reasonable driving distance, so I had to order it online:

I'm doing fine for money, so be assured this isn't a "omg please send monies" journal. The really sour part of this whole thing is the wait time for delivery: anticipated to arrive on nov. 26th, which is basically two weeks from right now. Just need to ask you guys for a little extra time; currently, I'm working on Soaked covers for
calafin,
bunnyhearts and
dragonatic. Of course, I can still work in traditional media, so I will probably do a bit of that while I'm waiting for this new tablet to come in.
The old tablet has been on its way out for a while. It's over 4 years old, the pressure nib is uneven and the manufacturer never made drivers for windows 7. I was planning on buying a new tablet around christmas anyway - so I ended up buying it a month early.
I'll post up again when I've got the new one in my hands, and I'll be checking the shipping status every day in the hopes it arrives sooner.
Thanks for your patience, everyone!

well, I'm glad you got to replace it quickly, though dang it for it's timing: can't be upset with you over a mechanical failure, after all:)
if I had it, I could try and jury-rig it with a soldering iron, maybe, but you're a pretty good clip from me:/
There may be a possibility of soldering it back together, but I still wouldn't cancel the order for the new one.
Could I possibly entertain you with a story in the meantime, 'fin? ;)
yeah, know how that goes; glad Staples has next day delivery for free on anything over $50 :P
Agreed, can't be 100% sure:)
And most definetely:)
