Every election, and I do mean every election, some people into the USA say they will leave or plan to leave. Rarely do any of them do it. Everyone else just rolls their eyes and sort of laughs.

Similarly every election we have at least one state talk about spinning off to become its own country. It will never happen much like how it is illegal for congress to split a state.

Oh... wow, i tought that kind of things didnt happen in USA. Well, maybe they do more noise becuase almost half of the votes went for the other candidate. Well, i hope things calm down eventually and the country keeps going for the best.

it never matters how many votes there is always a portion that says it. Things will calm down eventually, they always do, its just annoying and silly theatrics.

heres some ahh theatrics for ya. A women was arrested for running down her republican husband with a car because he did not go out and vote.

In Arizona. Which ment to Romney by a lot talk about a useless act.

While it is true that Mitt Romney had a number of anti-gay stances and was far from friendly towards the gay community the fact is that there are people who support him who honestly neither care about LGBT rights (as they don't think it impacts them and their families even if these policies do) or they over look them because they agree with him on other issues. Tarring all these people as anti-gay is neither reasonable nor right. It also lacks the same empathy we demand of those supporters. They have real issues that concern them that they feel the Democrats and Obama do not.

I'm not saying i agree with them or that Mitt Romney was a good candidate nor should anti LGBT bigotry be tolerated. I'm just saying lets not dismiss large swaths of the population especially when a lot of them really just need to understand how Mitt Romney and the current GOP's policies would actually affect a lot of people emotionally and financially.

Yeah that is an interesting one. Congress is technically obligated to hear the delegation on that matter and then vote on the idea while giving instructions, if any, to Puerto Rico. If Puerto Rico becomes a state all the citizens have to start paying income taxes and corporate taxes. They also get 20 billion dorsal in general improvement funds to refit and improve infrastructure to meet state standards. Currently they get no money for that as they are a territory.

I love those ill-concieved remarks about Moving to Canada or Australia because their candidate didn't win.

Two nations that have so many things they oppose like federal health care, gun control, and no death penalty.

Heck, I heard voting is compulsory in Australia.

It is with a fine of $20 Australian and possible court fees and extra fines

as such Australia has a 98% voter turn out of eligible voters.

I wouldn't recommend compulsory voting in my nation. I don't trust the average person to know what's good for them if you attached shock collars to their *CENSORED*, set to go off when they did something relatively harmful.

I'm against mandatory voting as well mainly because I believe not voting is as valid a choice as voting.

I can't say I'm for compulsary voting, but I'd love to see the action election process set for a week, instead of one painful day. Give everyone who wants to vote a chance to do so.

I think they do that in Australia?... Rumor has it, anyway. =P

That was why there were so many fights about early voting. By some estimates as much as 40% of the country voted before election day this year yet New York and New Jersey, two of the most densely populated states, do not allow early voting.
