Discussion idea- Magic Vs Technology.
been on my mind a while and so I was thinking if there were a war between the two sides, which would prevail? Technology or Magic? I want you to think it out on both sides. I already did some figuring but I want opinions and such and details. And please, do give a valid explanation, not just "Because it is just awesome" I want you to really give some thought on this topic. Give me some good ideas.

So jow's that for an answer? :)
Did you say "on the other paw"?
Here's a good example of this. Superman is weak to kryptonite. His race evolved to be that powerful to match their planet. The kryptonians were not religious people, and focused on technology. As a result, Superman's other weakness, which is actually a bigger threat to him, is magic, or any type of supernatural. Why? Simple. If it is a spell that burns, it will burn him just like it burns any one else simply because it isn't bound by any physical laws. Meaning, yeah I could make termite to get through steel, or I could just conjure up magical flames and have it burn through anything I want. Not because the heat, but because it's purpose is to burn, and it will whatever it's focused at. Also, magical energy, since it is supernatural, could not be harnessed by a machine. You need a spirit to use spiritual energy. In other words, to use magic based "technology" you would need to be powering it with enchanted equipment (which would make you using magic), you'd need to harvest people's spirits to run your "technology" (which would make it necromancy, which is any form of magic that manipulates/uses life), or you'd have to do both.
So magical technology is off the table because it's still magic. Also, there are physical limits something can reach, but the whole point is, supernatural does not have limits because it is not bound by the same laws, and can manipulate and alter them. Science and technology is understanding and studying them, but magic is about bending them. Sorta like that amp that goes up to 11. Technology would be like all the other amps that just go up to 10, but magic would be the amp that goes up to 11. By default it has the upperhand because it can always go higher than anything physical.
Also, to answer a comment I saw in here about studying magic being science. Well yes, of course it is, but that doesn't make it technology. Studying writings of a certain author to discover the written intent is a science too ("Hermeneutics (/hɜrməˈnjuːtɪks/), broadly, is the art and science of text interpretation. Traditional hermeneutics is the study of the interpretation of written texts, especially texts in the areas of literature, religion and law."), but you don't call studying the Bible, or Shakespeare's work a technology do you?
