Webdesigner, go home you are drunk.

Moo!
Website designers these days are a breed of moron I have concluded. I used to be one of them, back when the only tools we had were weak javascript and maybe some server side stuff like first gen ASP or PHP. I quit about the time "DHTML" and CSS were becoming popular.
Some where between then and now, efficiency went through the window, usability went through the window. Some sites make even some of the Geocities pages look well designed. Just a few minutes ago I noticed one of the sites I read regularly broke the back button functionality. They did it with some weird redirect.. so you go to a link, then the link redirects you to the page you expect you to go. So if you hit back, it takes you to the redirect, not the page you were at before.
......
This is unforgivable. Basic functionality of a web browser should not be compromised I don't know what they are trying to do, but I'm sure there is another way they could accomplish it.
This same site recently implemented the horrendous social media buttons... for each post, maybe 20 posts per page. Each social media button is in its own iframe inside a div. There are 7 social media buttons for each set. That is 141 pages loaded for every single refresh 140+ different copies of the js files loaded on every single page. Making a connection to a website is not free, it takes time, even on my 35Mbps connection it takes time. Every time I load the page, refresh the page, or whatever.. it freezes for between 2 and 10 seconds. Freezes, not just laggy, not just slow loading, the whole fucking browser window locks up. I will be the first to admit iframes have their uses... but THIS IS NOT ONE OF THEM. Write a single fucking java script, implement 7 functions in it, call those 7 functions from 20 different places with different parameters, depending on the post. There is absolutely no reason for this inefficient garbage!
Do you know what this made me do? It made me use adblock to block social media buttons. My browsing has never been better! Sites that used to be slow are now snappy, sites that were buggy now work flawlessly.
Webdesigners, check yourself, you're ruining your own usefulness. Learn some damn efficiency. Sure ram is free, processing is abundant, but when you are making a 3.5ghz processor take 10 seconds to render a page... YOU ARE DOING IT WRONG.

web designers, for the most part, have never spent one nano-second programming and that is obvious from a distance.

OP
Don't even need to program to know that 140+ iframes is a BAD IDEA.
