I won't miss the Twinkies, either. (The little chocolate cupcakes, on the other hand...)

The local plant closed very abruptly, with no warning to the employees. It was all over the news. Peeps came to work, got their paychecks, and were told not to come back. One woman had been there for over twenty years and now her retirement fund is gone.
It's hard to find a job around here anyway, and this is just making the problem worse.

I for one will not mourn Hostess... I was very young when it was discovered to my great disappointment that I was allergic to the primary ingredient in everything they make: corn syrup. Though I feel sorry for those who lost their jobs, it seems the company was in financial trouble for a long time and this was probably inevitable.
