I've just finished the transcript and sent it to Kitashi to put the final revisions on it. I typed like the wind and my grammar was par at best, so he is fixing some grammatical and formatting things. Stay tuned, and I'm sure he'll make it public once it's ready.

And while I'm at it, what was the progress done for literature and journals?

We've pretty much decided on a WYSIWYG editor to use for literature (not sure if we'll use it for journals; we haven't even thought about that), but we still need to decide what format to save the output as, and we'd then need to fit these decisions into the system.

Maybe Open Office? That format is now readable by Microsoft Office. I mean, OpenOffice is free too. You should also consider PDF, .mobi and .epub as eBook format, and .cbr for comics.

The two we were primarily looking at were PDF and .epub, but we decided we should ask actual writers and readers what they prefer instead of guessing what they'd prefer.

Well, consider me the first comment on that! XD

I was watching some of it the other day and was getting really interested in the fact you want to get more focused on the writing portion of the site. I believe that is a great idea of you and cant wait to hear out how :) I would love to help/ see the writing get on some what of a par with the art.

I listened in as well, I think the new changes to come are going to be a very good thing for FA.

I got to say. The furaffinity staff really made a bold move when starting this site to help the furry fandom grow exponentially. Just like Pandora or Facebook, there's a real risk running creating a website that does something like this. You have to understand there is a huge financial risk for running a site like this. Also the reason why it's so popular is because it was (basically) first at making a site focused solely on anthropomorphic content. Although it may seem like they don't have it totally together, you have to realize they aren't making a whole lot of money on this site, and that it was originally thrown together and they probably didn't expect this site to blow up this fast. When designing a system, sometimes it's better to get a focused working product out before being able to implement anything better in order to get the majority of the user-base. I congradulate FA for trying to reach out to the community and are actually striving now to take the steps to a better website/user system.

Uhm... There are at least four sources of revenue to keep this place afloat. The wolf is nowhere near the door.

About the community not being able to handle monthly banners: that's the price for inclusivity.

There's a paradox about inclusivity and community: you cannot have both of them simultaneously for long. When you stand for everything, you stand for nothing. When you stand for everyone, you stand for no one.

Bring in everyone, and you bring in people who will always be strangers to each other.

You gotta keep 'em separated. You gotta recognize that liking anthropomorphism/zoomorphism is not (and should not be) enough to call others friends. Deeper values need to be involved. Until then, it's not a community. Don't treat it like one.

One of my questions was never answered.

I was trying to find out if there was a chance to have the AUP limited to point of reference looks on a persons fursona/persona in such a way that it would be allowed in at least scraps and or profile pic's.

Images such as my first attempt at a good look of myself in a new fursona as a worgen from wow. One of 2 genders im still deciding myself as to what to use as well as a name of said character.

This image is a first attempt as a base look. I have a few others with the character stripped down to basic clothes and i was going to use the final render as a upload for when i decided to have someone draw one or if i find a free pic chance i would take advantage of it with an actual colored version of one of my characters.

Can't Play the livestream recording on both Google Chrome and Mozilla Firefox but my internet is good

I'm getting real close to finishing up the text log of the live stream if you'd like to pick apart the things you want to find out about using "Control + F".

The chat was roughly 1H 30M's long, and Orthan did about 10-20 mins. I took over and I have roughly 25 minutes left. After I finish I'll send it over to Kitashi so he can edit\fix\format it to his liking, and to the English language haha.

Some feedback:
Your microphone-inputs were turned up too high; there was lots of clipping. Do some mic tests beforehand, so you can get a clean sound. Also, heavy audio distortion, possibly due to clipping, not sure (skype phone quality, maybe?). If you don't get the distortion in mic-tests, you may want to use a communication service that uses less bandwidth (skype is really heavy). The distortion can also be caused by auto-noise removal filters, if you're using one.

Edit your audio files. Yeah, it's a livestream, but you can still do post production. And you should. It doesn't take that much time to edit audio files, and you can clean up a lot of junk. Removing long periods of silence, for example, or heavy mic breathing, aha.

On the subject of finding evidence for issues... I don't think that relying on witnesses is the best idea seeing as there are more than enough people that would lie to support their "peers."

personally, i'd rather there be evidence showcased... so, say that there is an accusation of harassment, well, we're working with a system that is primarily visual so why not just take a screen capture. yes, i know that that can be altered but a testimonial can be outright false.

to me, it boils down to the "pics or it didn't happen" approach. if there is no evidence or if it is all happening off-site, then i think that the admin team should disregard it... leave it up to the other sites to action issues like that that are happening on their own sites.

Also, for the suggested changes to the blocking system, i would strongly suggest that you can only block users that are on your page... and only make it so you have to have a reason WHY you're blocking them and if at all possible, have this block recorded somewhere in the FA database so that if a trouble user is reported, then they can make a decision based on how many times they've been blocked and a list of hte comments that earned them that block... i think it would help allow the moderators to come to a better informed decision when it comes to disagreements and even cases of harassment as opposed to having to rely on hearsay.
