2. The right lens makes a HUGE difference. It seems counter intuitive to pay more for a lens than the camera, but the results are well worth it.
I've taken a few photo courses, but far from calling myself a photographer, I'm still learning the craft. All I can say though is invest in good glass (lenses) and it'll pay off.
