You know, I used to think that furry artists were generally assholes. The logic behind this was that since people were always sucking up in hopes of scoring some free art, it would feed into the artists' egos and eventually turn them into jerks.

And you know what? That's actually true for a lot of them. That said, I've met a surprising number of furry artists who are just as chill and friendly as you could ever want...and not as some kind of disingenuous ploy to sell art, but people who are actually that nice. That's a wonderful thing.

I've been so cynical for so long...to think that there would be people I would enjoy doing business with, it's beyond difficult to conceive... yet here we are.

I've been a part of this fandom for better than 15 years now. It took a long time to learn to appreciate it, but I love it. There are always people who poop in the punchbowl, but I've met many fascinating, beautiful people as well. So, if you're among the latter, go ahead and give yourself a pat on the back, preferably of butter.
