I've come to a decision about my characters (or more correctly, my lack of them). Well, actually I came to this decision a couple of weeks ago, but now I'm ready to announce it. Not that any of you are worried about what I do, I'm sure. But, anyway...

I've decided that from now on I'll draw fewer random furs and more recurring characters. I'll try to not get too involved in backstories or explorations of their personality - I expect these things may evolve as I draw, and basic outlines will give me plenty to work with. I reckon a half-dozen or so furs should be a reasonable number, give or take. We'll see how things go. And the occasional random here or there won't hurt, either.

I've got a few characters in mind, already. I'll be uploading sketches starting soon(ish), beginning with Candi. It's possible that I've already uploaded her by the time you read this.

...I've just noticed that I've started each paragraph so far with "I've"...

Anyway...

So why am I doing this? Because I want to. To some extent it's an "ownership" thing (for lack of a better word) - you don't get to feel much affection for your creation if they're just another random fur. Also, I hope it'll help develop some consistency in my drawing. I'll just have to be careful to make a few characters that I'll actually be interested in drawing a few times.

So far it seems to be working. You (and I) will see in due course.

...So now I'm starting paragraphs with "So"? I think something's broken with my thing that I use to keep words with in my brain. My big brain word-bucket. What's that thing called, again?
