I had a seriously malfunctioning hot shoe, though, and it really discouraged me from taking photos. It was constantly firing at the hip and constantly NOT firing when I triggered the shutter.
Also discouraging me is the constant pressure I put myself under. You take a few good photos, and people expect you to take more good photos, so I end up in this neverending cycle of overblown expectation. It's crippling, yo.

Yeah I know how that is, I feel the same way -- I take a few photos, and I may be pleased with maybe 1 out of 10 or 15, and every time I show up with a camera now, they expect every photo to be super awesome. Makes me wish I had way better equipment to deal with at least.

I think you're your own worst critic.. but who isn't, I guess. Regardless, these shots are all fantastic and nothing to be ashamed of. Lots of quality pics, man. =)

You are your own worst critic, and I know how you feel, but... Keep shooting. It's neat, it's fun, and it's the only way to improve and stay practiced. Heaven knows I don't do enough of it myself, but... circumstances keep stealing my time. My precious, precious time. u.u
