as funny as these things are, I always hear at the end of the day how someone was trampled to death, or beat to death over something, and it's like... is it really worth it? I don't think people are ready to handle things like this. I mean you're basically saying "I want everybody to fight over this one item, because we don't have enough for everybody"

Yeah, it's just sad... I'm really glad that we don't have black friday here in Germany and that we Germans generally aren't really consumer whores like it is the case with so many Americans.
We do have clearing sales during this time of the year (I got myself a Nikon D3200 a few days ago :3) but it really isn't that huge and not limited to just one weekend.
But yeah, the way you guys are handling it deaths are pretty much inevitable O_o

Apple had a sale like that though. Wanna know how they handled it in their online store? At first every item had a discount of 1.54€. A little later they bumped up the original prices by 100€ so that it looks like you are saving a lot on each product! X3

I started watching DigitalRev TV on Youtube earlier this year (Kai is both awesome and amazingly cute), that got me interested. Then I actually tested a D3200 with an 18-105mm lense in a store and I just felt so super creative all of a sudden! It was amazing, I had never felt that before! X3 I have been putting money aside for a better camera ever since I noticed how crappy my compact is when I was using it in Japan but when I was shooting with the D3200 I just knew that I had to have one of those.

And yeah, amazing tactic, isn't it? I know why I hate Apple :P

Oh and I almost forgot! Which camera do you have? :3
I mean, it doesn't really matter what you have. A terrible photographer would take terrible pictures even if you handed him a 5D Mk. III while a pro would take amazing photos even if you handed him a massive turd of a camera.

I have the EOS T3. NOT to be mistaken with the T3i, which is actually a GOOD camera... unlike this one. my webcam has the same megapixels that this piece of shit does :V

There is nothing wrong with the 1100D I tested that one as well and the only gripe that I had against it is that it feels a little plasticy compared to other cameras.
It has everything you need! CMOS sensor, decent noise performance, 720p video mode, live view... The MP count isn't even all that important. You can even have better noise performance with fewer mega pixels than a camera with a higher count because the pixels on your sensor are bigger!^^
So yeah, I wouldn't call that a bad camera at all. It is all about the glass in front of your sensor anyway. The camera itself is essentially just a posh lense holder XD

A shitload of megapixels has pretty much just one advantage, you can crop a lot without using details. But that is really only useful in certain situations, it is entirely useless in landscape shots for example.
My camera has 24 mega pixels. What the heck will I ever need that for? Prinitng something as big as my wall? XD I could print that at 40"x27" at standard photo resolution. What the flipping heck!
Even 10 mega pixels are enough. Heck, the professionals were perfectly happy with 4mp^^

if there's one thing I've observed about arizona, it's that 90% of the activity that goes on here is solely people driving THROUGH arizona to get somewhere else. the rest are sign spinners, and people on their way to the nearest liquor store :V

That's what Arizona gets for listing different shopping centers as main attractions; nothing else to do except outdoorsy stuff. Ended up being a ghost town the year I did work it.

I can't imagine that kind of insanity. I've never encountered anything but air that I couldn't to have until another day.

Now...if there were an apocalypse and only one pack of smokes and bottle of whiskey was left on Earth...and several people stood between me and my goal...there might be some casualties...but without that kind of extreme circumstance...i just can't bring myself to give enough of a shit about material goods that will be available later
