What would happen if the earth started rotating in revers?

Any Ideas or votes? And don't say we all would fly off please... google already said that XP

I really don't know. There maybe wouldn't be much of a difference. Though, I'm thinking our seasons would change. Instead of Winter, spring, summer, fall and repeat, it would be the opposite.

No, the seasons are dictated by the tilt on the Earth's axis as it goes around the Sun.

It would affect the trade winds and weather systems. Current is mostly controlled by the moon, but to stop and then rotate backward would cause flooding, teutonic plate movement and who knows wot else.

The worst that would happen is that the Sun would seem to rise and set in different directions.....the rotation of the earth only dictates the days and nights.

Actually the National Geographic Channel did a whole show about this a year or two ago, and all the effects it would have on life as we know it. Look it up on Youtube, you oughta be able to find most of the show there^_^. It's pretty interesting. Short version..virtually everyone dies.
