A recently passed away friend made a point of scheduling activities for an entire week including their birthday. Most were things that worked as group activities (mini golf, movies, comedy clubs) and he made sure to let his friends know what was happening.

So I guess activitys should start before the 21st

Well, congrats on your B-day. Mine follows just over a week later. I'm sure you enjoyed yours as much as I enjoyed mine when we were kids. Too durned close to Santa's visit. Of course, I had (have) an extra hurdle, since my brother is four years younger, to within about 4 hours.



And you're all young whippersnappers. Just try being born in the 1940's. Everyone have a beer!

Luckily, I never had to deal with the bad issues of being a near-Christmas baby as my family never used it as an excuse to cheap out. The closest they ever came to doing that was when they gave linked presents, and the one year my sister thought the iPod was a going to be for my birthday and had to give a quick warning to switch her two gifts around.

In university it even resulted in something I personally liked: Never being a fan of in class/dorm birthday recognitions, it was nice to always be able to say, "my birthday isn't during the term". (Given that there were a couple of ladies in my program who loved giving them even if you didn't want one and they seemed to be incapable of getting that some people didn't, this was a good thing.)

LOL it was interesting being that close to Christmas
