It's not cool to resell stolen textures!

General
I'm re-posting something I typed up a while ago as a little refresher.
Please take the time to read over this:
It's becoming all too common to stumble across my textures being resold, whether they be edited minimally, traced or rearranged. Although not only my work is being re-purposed, I can't speak for other mod artists or avatar creators that are having their artwork stolen so I'll just rant a bit and let you know how I feel about it.
○If you purchase one of my mods and want to rip the textures for personal use-- changing the hue, adding on, what ever you want to do to it, by all means go for it. As a modder myself I find creating something original from a pre-made mod kit usually requires this! Where I draw the line on this particular instance would be passing out my textures, edited or not, with ANY combination of perms. If there is a person that owns the same mod as you and has PURCHASED IT THEMSELVES, I don't mind if you pass on your modifications to them (NO TRANS) free of charge.
○TRACING MY TEXTURES IS WRONG. DON'T DO IT. Make your own. Don't know how? Sit in on one of my streams and I'll be happy to show you how.
○Obviously, reselling my textures is not something I'll stand for. I've found my mods almost completely unedited on the marketplace as well as tweaks, re-hues, little bits such as noses or markings lifted for use on something otherwise not textured by me.
○Don't desaturate my mods and use them as "shaders" for your own colors on a mod that you intend on selling.
○Above all, if you're caught in the act, don't try to lie your way out of the situation. I respect a person who apologizes more than someone who denies everything when it's downright blatant.
I really shouldn't have to be typing this out guys, it's common sense. I speak for myself and other texture artists when I say that it is a very time consuming process that takes a lot of patience and to see it resold for a fast buck is very painful.
To those of you who support the mod artists of SL, I salute you and I encourage all of you who have an interest in creating your own to give it a go! I love teaching what I know so don't hesitate to ask advice at any point- if I know how to do it, I'll share it.

I'm sorry this happened to you, I'd be as disappointed if that happened to me. I dont use SL much anymore but I do love seeing the mods and thinking about how it'd look on my chinchilla girl. =P
Worst of all. Fucking sob stories.
