Video Games of the Week I
I will be making a game journal called Video Games of the Week (VGW) that talks about my opinions on video games, how I rate them, and what video games should come out...just cuz Im bored...deal with it
Video Game: CALL OF DUTY: BLACK OPS II
Platforms: PS3, XBOX 360, PSVITA, PC
Content: M (Blood and Gore, Intense Violence, Strong Language, Suggestive Themes, Use of Drugs)
Summary: COD:BO2 is a first-person shooter game that is involved with both Past and Future timelines with protagonists Alex Mason and David Mason, Alex's son, fighting to save the world from the tyrannical clutches of the antagonist known as Menendez. You will gain access to many different things during the campaign. You can customize your loadout before a mission, you can complete challenges to gain weapons/perks/attachments/camo, you will be able to view your leaderboard stats on each mission to know who's better than the other, multiple choice options are shown in the campaign that decide how the story shall go, and you will be able to play Strikeforce Missions that follow up on the story depending what happens.
Extra News: Zombie mode is a pretty fun survival game with more than just surviving endless hordes of zombies. Tranzit brings in a story and several accessible areas that you can travel to by bus or foot, bus being the safest due to weird monkey-like creatures in the mist that jump on you and claw your face off; parts for equipment are scattered all over the place that you can use on workbenches to make, specific parts go to specific workbenches in specific areas; two new perks are available known as Tombstone and Stamin-up. Survival is just what you'd expect. Grief mode is a Versus version of Survival, where two teams, CIA and CDC, are against each other but players will either choose to use their opponents for help or to hinder them when theyre surrounded by zombies and a new power-up known as Meat can be used like a Monkey-Bomb to lure zombies to it or the player it's thrown on. WARNING: Watch out for flaming zombies, they explode once killed.
Multiplayer now includes new options. League Play, Multi-Team, Hardpoint, Combat Training, Bootcamp, Party Games(Free Wager Matches), Nuketown 2025(DLC). You can now train with bots in Custom Matches with more than Team-Deathmatch and Free-for-All and you have access to everything in the Custom Classes, you just cant gain XP. Combat Training you CAN gain XP, just half of the usual amount from regular matches and its a mix between Human players and Bots. Bootcamp is for levels 1-10 that wish to get an easy start in their progress. Multi-Team is a variety of games with three teams that each have three players. League Play is where you, your party, or your clan/team can test their worth in a variety of games to get to the top of the ladder. Hardpoint is somewhat like Headquarters only you have to hold down the certain area from the enemy team. You remember the Wager Matches from BO1 that you had to buy with your points? Well in BO2, you can play those same games as much as you want for free! Nuketown 2025(DLC) adds the bonus map to the map playlist with a variety of games.
Opinions: The game was great and the story in the campaign was breathtaking. I loved how competitive the scoring system is and how you can change your loadout to anything you want before a mission and how challenges can lure in to be completed with weapons, perks, attachments, etc. to be rewarded. Multiplayer is also fun, but sometimes it gets frustrating obviously, for there's always that one asshole that kills ya everytime he/she sees you or when you see him/her. If the Ghost Perk could give ya Optical Camo, that'd be cool. Or if they had it so you could use your weapon and the Assault Shield at the same time. Zombies is also fun, and I kick ass in Town, and I love how a story takes place with the mode for once instead of just predictable survival against the undead hordes, and for once they had the Pack-A-Punch easy to find, though in Tranzit...not so much. Oh, and thank god for no Nova Crawlers.
Rating: Campaign: 4.5/5 Guns
Multiplayer: 3/5 Noobz
Zombies: 4/5 Buttmunchers
Succesful Glitch: Double Assault Shield Glitch, Instant Non-Working Death Machine Glitch
Fantasy Games: They NEED to remake Final Fantasy VII for the PS3, that would be amazingly epic as hell
