What Defines Me

General
Everyone has a trait that they adhere to, something that they can hold onto that defines them as a person over all else. Some choose pride; an admirable trait that keeps them strong and above all, indomitable. Some value vanity, which while not a lesser trait, can be a source of strength as self-service and gratification can lead to the most successful and stalwart of individuals.
My defining aspect, what I use to create who I am, what I am as a human being above all else? What makes me tick and pushes me ever onward instead of flopping over and dying like so many dull, lackwitted creatures in this world?
Loyalty. I value loyalty and trust over all else. I don't give it out freely, in fact I'm actually pretty afraid to trust most people, and I'm actually reticent to give it out.
When I do though? Make no mistake that you are someone that I value. I would never hurt or betray anyone that I care for, never intentionally, and I consider this a strength, because when you're loyal to someone, you have no fear. Only the desire to see them happy, to see them succeed.
So when I say that you are my friend? Take that to mean the most sincerest of meanings. That I love you, and I never want to see you in pain or suffer.
This gives me strength. This is what defines me. Your happiness. I am no one's better, simply a friend, and I most certainly am never anyone's bitch.
