I have a British aunt who sings that song. Outside of this clip, that's the only place I remember ever hearing it.

I believe the song dates back to Victorian England, when goose was the traditional Christmas dinner rather than turkey. It's true that you don't hear it much nowadays, though the Kingston Trio and Harry Belafonte both recorded it in the 60's. It's almost always sung as a round, like the Muppets did here.
