Advent Season lasts from the fourth Sunday before Christmas until the night before Christmas; Christmas Season lasts from Christmas Day until the twelfth night after, (January 5th); and then comes Epiphany Season, but that's not a holiday. *sigh* In fact, "Christmas season" seems to start about Hallowe'en and doesn't end so much as peter out. It's sad that the Free Market has to turn a holy time of peace and good will into a bacchanal of greed and gluttony just to break even on the year.

In Soviet Russia, Santa sends small children out on hopeless quests to their doom in the frozen wastelands. The real lesson here is that displeasing Stalin will get you reassigned to a frozen outpost in Antarctica faster than you can blink, which is what I assume happened to Jr.'s father.
