Graphics tablet recommendations?

I'm still not sure if i want to get one but in case i do, it would be cool to hear what kind some of you have and if you think it's a good one. also how much did it cost? i'd hope not to spend more than like $50-$60 on it but i dunno if i could get a decent one at that price.
Tablets that perform as well as a Wacom (Many ex-Wacom users actually insisted they perform even better), and are cheaper as well!
The Wacom Bamboo tablets are always coming up with quality issues. Lack of response, frayed wires (a problem with Wacom designs for a long time), and driver support seems to be iffy. My ancient and very expensive Intuos is still supported, but the cheaper Graphire series from a few years back has no drivers available for new computers.
