my pell grant wasn't enough to cover my entire tuition. if you take out a stafford loan too you could probably afford a few things you'd like along with the remainder of your tuition and whatever else. it won't be a whole whole lot, speaking from personal experience, but it should be something.

There's a lot of sets for about $360 too, labelled Set A, B, C, etc.

I dunno anything about copics so maybe I'm searchin wrong idunno.

yeah you want to look for a set that isn't 'ciao' copics. with the rate that chris would be using them she'd be out of ink in a week or two. most places you aren't going to get better than $7 a marker :(

those are ciao markers. they are pretty much pens(not markers) and they have a fourth of the ink :\

yeah those. those are a little better. much closer to what she probably needs. sketch markers still have half the ink of normal copics. i actually use a set of these and they come with the brush tips. not as many color options as the copic original but you can always supplement individual colors or mix colors.

ciao markers are for people who are using copics for the very first time and what to try them before they spend money on a large set.

they're just called 'copics' or maybe try 'copic.too'. Wide, Ciao, Sketch, and Copic are they types they come in. Airbrush system too :D

well even if they won't help you with college you can still get fasfa. you just need to have them sign a form saying they either can't or won't support you so the school will allow you to use fasfa.

if they won't sign a non-support form you may up ending up waiting until you are 24 to be able to go to school.

speaking of school. have you considered your degree? picking the right school for the right degree is really super important. most people think that they'll just take some credit hours and it will all be good because you can switch schools but it's not that easy x:

be really careful. some community college programs aren't accepted by universities(which is where you will be going if you choose an art degree as your major). even if you take the courses at a community school there's a chance the uni won't accept the transfer and you have to take the courses all over again. which ends up being a waste of time and money.

The community college here has a partnership with OSU, which is like one of the two biggest colleges in the state, they can transfer all the credits she's earned after two years. I'm also going to introduce her to the counselor here who helped me out a bit with college and gave me lots of options, and if things don't work, we'll have enough put aside to send her back home.~

Does OSU have the degree she wants? This is really good that the community college will do this. does OSU offer good programs?

Well for actual ART ART you want 'Fine Art'. College of Liberal Arts is like... history.

but she has said to me me she has an interest in animation so i'd suggest looking into animation programs or something that's called 'new media'

i have no idea what OSU's rep is as far as their programs. I'll ask OSU students if I see them at Brass Ring or around my school.

I'll try to contact my counselor too, she should know more about that as well.

She'll want to speak with the head of those departments as well. It also can't hurt to talk to professors.
