as I said, it tends to be dirt cheap where I get it so I wouldnt worry too much about the cost... think of it as late Xmas?
also if you cant find them cheaper anywhere else I can get balaclavas for about £5 each

I am looking up styrofoam head's to model the mask on , so I am pritty exited about making Ruby

yeah, Im getting excited about remaking scul... and using a resin base for the first time!
I find styrofoam heads are really useful when making masks... saves having to guess or do the work while wearing the damn thing (I did that on my first attempt... ended up sticking it to my face with glue O.o) hobbycraft sell them but they are about £15 there

I found an anatomicly correct one for around about £6 amazon

it wasnt so painful... ok, it was quite painful and I did need my mum to rip it off my face... moral of the story is use inanimate objects OR other people XD

I don't have a clue how Id start this head

I started mine by putting the balaclava on the styrofoam head (so you kinda know the shape and layout of stuff) made a couple of markings with chalk, y'know for where the center is and where you want the snout, eyebrows and ears to go. after that I added the upper and lower jaw and attacked with scissors until symetrical and happy with the shape. I found the muzzle is kinda the central and most important feature... saying all that, youtube has some nice tutorials XP

pffftt... lets see... crystal resin, furs, regular resin, fur, elastic, fur, foam, fur, a hammer (for con badge making... dont ask), fur, a dremel tool, fur and vodka... cant work without vodka.... did I mention fur? XP luckily tis my birthday in 10 days (whoop I be old!!!) so mummy dearest will give me money for supplies :D
