Need help with some ideas, please.

General
Yeah, I keep telling myself "I'll go to AC... Next year." I've done that for more than a few years now and I think I need to break the cycle. So what does this have to do with y'all? Half of why I don't go is worry I'd not have anyone to hang with or stuff to do. Both pretty lame, I know. But maybe If I get stuff together, it could work out.
So I have some ideas to get your opinions on and some questions.
Tag Teaming:
I do embroidery, but I mostly use other people's art for the designs. Why? I'm not as clean or quick as many of the other people on here, so it makes it easier on me. That and I like playing with other peoples styles in my stitching. So if I'm going to go I was thinking of looking for artists who would tag team with me. What I mean is someone comes for a patch, I refer them to an artist I'm working with to do the design, then I make the embroidery from their drawing. We split the money for the product.
Basic Bust Patches:
I need to be armed with quick sell items. The base idea is bust patches of different animals, like the doberman patch I just did using
's art. You know, fox, horse, wolf, squid, all those good ones and sell those cheap ($6 a pop as opposed to the $20 I charge for one from scratch and offer it in custom colors for $10.) So what do I need? Good clean art for those busts. So anyone willing to help me on that?
Word Tags:
You know those name patches you see on service industry shirts. I have finished name patches lying around, would be easy to take those and put anything on them. Say things like, "Yerf!" "Woof!" "O'Rly?" that sort of junk. Move those cheap for $4. So what words would you guys want to see on them?
Big Character Bags / Wallets / Quilts / Polos / Something:
If I could get the permission of some of the really known artists t use thier characters and make custom things based on the character and put them in the auction, I think that would really be something. (Say shooting for the moon, here) Getting Max BlackRabbit's permission to make a ZigZag Purse wallet in black and white say vinyl to fit her background. Or with Jim Groat to do a Red shetland messenger bag. I think something unique and custom like that would be buzz worthy. Would almost want to do a Character Quilt that showcases a lot of the characters, but that would take getting a lot of permission and that could be hard.
Staff patches:
I have no idea how big the staff is for something like AC, so this could be a fools errand. But making patches for each of the staff members, or at least the head staff and organizers. Not only would it make them stand out as staff, I think it would look cool. I'm jsut afraid that that one would take someone helping me out with supplies money if there are more than four or five I have to do.
But yeah I'm all about big ideas, it's just getting feedback and then setting them in motion that tends to give me problems. So here it is all laid out. Help me! And on the last note, I'm planning to take what I get from comissions all year (I mean I've actually gotten some! Thank you!) and trying to use that to make my con money. We'll see how that goes.
Edit: To clarify, I'm talking about preparing for 2009. Doing all this in three, four days would be Sparta.

FA+

I do have a bit of an alternate idea that you could do in that regard that would allow you to make patches with more than just one artist, but you would need to discuss with the artists a mutual priceline.
and if your going this year.. OMFG TELL ME GODDAMNIT!!
YOU MUST GO!!!
hell im trying for FAU as well
SO SHOULD YOU!!
I wouldn't mind doing this with yah at all C: In fact, it would be uber cool to share a dealers table with you.
Basic Bust Patches:
Willing to help with these, too.
Word Tags:
If you made an 'O rly?' badge, it would definitely need the owl with it. As for other word tags, just any animal sounds would work (woof, meow, moo, tweet, etc), and just silly stuff you see at say, an anime con. I can't remember all of them, but stuff like 'I got frisked at AC by a fursuiter and all I got was this lousy patch' XD
Big Character Bags / Wallets / Quilts / Polos / Something:
Definitely wouldn't advise this. Permission would be extremely hard to get, and I don't think artists really want whoever has money to own something of their personal character, but I could be wrong.
I'd say instead just doing big species bags, wallets, etc. like canines, felines, dragons, etc. I've never been able to find many good dragon wallets or clothing, and I'm sure a lot of furries have the same problem trying to find their species on whatever they want (though there are t-shirts of EVERYTHING).
Staff patches:
These would be really cool, but probably a bit impractical. T-shirts and ribbons to attach to the convention badges are easy to make and cheap, and that seems to be the chosen way of doing things. I would say ask around anyway though.
Other:
Definitely needs to be a 'Certified Artist' patch. I'll send more ideas your way as I think of them, and if you want them XD
Aww, thank you! Now I just need to figure out all I'd want to do there.
Yeah, I think the animal sounds would fork best, "Moo" would be perfect! I just want these to be single words in cursive, but I think these other ideas have merit as more detailed basic patches.
It's a sticky wicket. There are quite a few characters that have a sort of iconic status in the fandom. And I know it would be kind of uphill, and If a artist doesn't want their baby be packaged like that. That's not a battle I want to fight. I just think it could be something unique, and I'd love an opportunity to do work involving those characters.
I'd love to be able to do that, and I may have the time. I just worry about producing my more involved things and have to worry about if it will find a good home.
Yeah, this could be a bit much, but could limit it to a group security just as a thing to do.
Hee! But is there a standard design for the certification seal? That's a lovely idea. And please do. Ideas are always nice. Thank you!
