12/21/12?

Really wishing that I could put a header image here. --+
I'm having one of those sleepless nights again. Mainly since the date that the world 'would' end is closing in. It's weird thinking about this topic, since normally I don't, but I guess older minds think about stuff like this. I don't know. I heard and read about a lot of different things that would happen on the 21st. One is that our solar system's gonna be sucked into the center of the milky way galaxy, thus ending us. Then there's a planet by the name of Nibiru that's gonna crash into Earth, plus a possibility that if or when the polar axis of the poles switch, a three mile high wave will hit us, as well as a wicked earthquake that could change the face of this world forever. All I can say is that I wish none of these happen.
I just think that when this day comes, perhaps something that we couldn't describe will happen. Like a new chapter of our world and our race. Perhaps it might make us much more different, both mentally and physically, to the point where we could become what we truly wanted to be. Or maybe find out the secrets of the existence of ourselves. Or not. The 21st could just be a normal winter's day.
Whatever happens. Whatever the 21st brings us, I want to say is that I hope that the people I meet, the friends I made both online and off, and the family I love will be together in my heart for years to come. Even to the end of existence.

I'm older, and i feel old, but i'm definitely not THAT old ^^;
We survived the Y2K scare, and we're going to survive this little tiff.
here's a few things to help put your mind at ease:

In relation to that second link, I did a google search once I found the link from NASA about a week or so ago. Apparently the Mayan calender is done in short counts and long counts. The short count calender being something similar to a month, and the long count calendar being similar to a year. They're both on different scales, but essentially what it boils down to is the Mayan long count calendar would be for them what the millenial celebration would be when New Years' January 1st, 2000 hit. It's just a change in the calendar, nothing more.
Now, there are sayings that the Mayan referred to the end of the 13 b'ak'tun as a transformation in our mindset and beliefs, but nothing really about destruction. The end of the 13th b'ak'tun, the long count calender date that everyone has been making a big fuss over, is not the end of the world. Some guy probably just sensationalized it to make some money off of stuff....and to be honest, i think he succeeded, based on how widespread this fear has gotten.
Don't believe me? Do some research of your own.

Though call me a skeptical, but I'm not that worried about that!
Although, for years since I've heard of this, I always wanted to create that takes place during or after! I always love science fiction!
