End of the World Hype

Okay... so it's one thing for the ignorant people of the world to keep going on with how the Mayans from centuries ago supposedly 'knew' tomorrow/today would be the end of the world... but really? I'm not sure I appreciate FA posting this alert.

I mean what the fuck... I find this disrespectful. It's annoying enough to hear it everywhere else... but to have the admins of a site I considered a legitimate one trying to freak people out over this nonsense as well? Fuck that... : / Really makes me reconsider being a member here... I mean come on... don't we deserve a bit more respect? I dunno... guess some might find it fun or humorous, but I just find it kinda offensive. : /

As I have said a couple times now... makes me not look at FA as a group of professionals anymore at the very least. : /
Might as well be a bunch of children or drunks in charge of the site...
And if there was an asteroid that might hit us, shouldn't the nations be working to gether to make something that can either stop or destroy the asteroid. I mean, if thw hydrogen bomb or nuclear bomb can be made, why not something more destructive to take it out and not wait till the last second for it to come.
One of the many possibilities they can do.
1: Space Station. Yes it was done but this is to save human for Christ sakes. Forget money like people buying their way onto the station. If you dead, money means crap >->.
2: That planet that was recently discovered by astronomers that similar to earth, maybe starting a colony there.
3: Like what i said above.
4: I'm have to think of more ideas <-<
2) I believe Mars has been considered very similar to Earth... a place that could likely be made habitable if we terraformed it a bit... you know.. start out small and make bio domes or somesuch on the planet until life can fully be supported. Just thoughts, I suppose.
