It's just two different things that Ishoka has recently discovered. xP
There's been footage for a sequel... Demo reels. A script has been floating around Hollywood since about 1991 or '93. But sadly, it may never happen, now that Eddie Valiant (Bob Hoskins) has retired from film due to coming down with Parkinsons.
I've always felt that a really cool idea would be to take the next Roger Rabbit, have it be live action and 2D animation, but also have Eddie Valiant be CG (like the young Flynn [Jeff Bridges] in Tron Legacy), with Hoskins reprising his roll via voice acting
Funny thing is that just yesterday, I watched Roger Rabbit again, after I bought an animation book by Richard Williams, the guy who directed the animation in the movie. When I saw the movie in the theater when it came out, the animation already blew me away. Now, I respect the whole process of animation even more, and spent a lot of time cycling through frames and tracking the motion.
If they do make a new movie, it had better not be CGI. There would be just no way to get the same feel.
