My family started doing something different the past couple years for New Year's Resolutions. Instead of a phrase ("I'm going to lose 25 pounds" or "I'm going to finish a project a month"), we choose a single word that will be the focus of your "resolution". The challenge is thus to live your life always keeping that word in mind, staying true to it when possible. It's like a value to hold dearly.

I'm choosing "Commitment". To follow through on things I start; to make decisions and stick with them.
