What the Actual Fuck

I've been compared to a lot of things.
Mass Murderers-That's a new one.
Yes, apparently when I yelled at one of the Floor Managers today to stop interrupting me so I could finish speaking, it made enough of a scene to warrant a few people to tell that same Manager later that they were afraid I was gonna do to my workplace what an autistic kid did in Connecticut: Return and shoot up the place.
All I did was shout and clench my fists. It was wrong, and I admit that, but does that warrant such a grim comparison?
NO. It doesn't. Hell no. What happened in Connecticut was goddamn tragic. Precious lives were cut down, before their prime, in a hail of bullets. And someone had the gall to compare an act of mental instability-driven multiple homicide to an employee (me) getting a bit ticked off?
And here's the kicker: I am a supporter of legislation to remove automatic/semi-automatic weaponry from the list of firearms a person can own for the purposes of defense of self and property, along with the inclusion of psychological evaluation. This means if you want so much as a pistol you're gonna have to prove that you are not "at-risk" to say, go bonkers and slaughter people because you don't like mondays.
And they compare me to that exact kind of person because the Connecticut shootings were performed by an Autistic and I have Aspergers and I just so happened to lose my cool, to which I will admit again, was my bad, and not appropriate.
I will never own a gun. I will learn other methods of self-defense. Guns were invented for the express purpose of killing, not disarming. Every person who has one knows this. And I will never sink to such a level that in my mind I view slaughtering innocents in a hail of bullets as correct in any way, shape or form.
Regardless of what I did, this wounded me deeply. This is a sensitive subject for me, and I feel hurt right now. I will never be able to take pride in my work again, because of this.
Due to concerns that published descriptions of Lanza's autism could result in a backlash against others with the condition, autism advocates campaigned to clarify that autism is a brain-related developmental problem and not a mental illness. The predatory aggression demonstrated in the shooting is generally not seen in the autistic population.-Wikipedia Article on Adam Lanza
