You seemed excited that time and just gave a "good game" opinion about XIII... I never saw a gamer change his mind about a game AFTER playing it.. was it because later you got yourself surrounded by many negative ones and you just "followed the dance"? Or something else happened ? Im confused...
Looking back at that, that was just a premature afterthought right after I finished the game. Sometimes you need for something to set in and really look back at it to fully realize what you think. Reading that journal, I remembered that I was going soft on it cuz I was trying very hard to like the game, cuz I am a FF and SE fan. But I was just fooling myself. Later on, I gradually realized how much I disliked the game and the flaws of it became more clear.
You can say that I woke up now and know what I really think.
I wouldn't think it's too uncommon for someone to change their opinion on a game after they've had a chance to finally play it. Maybe they were a bit too hyped up for it and the final product didn't really meet their expectations.
He really fucking nailed it with those fucking datalogs. I think that's the root of why I finally gave up on it; there were too many fucking datalogs that I didn't want to have to spend hours on, and each individual datalog required you to have read six other ones for it to make sense. Every setting was just a jumbled mess of buildings that I couldn't tell what they were for, or unfamiliar plants and animals, or big subterranean machine innards that I had no idea what they were. In the end I didn't care about any of the characters or places because I didn't know anything about them and had no incentive to learn because the game was so linear there were no choices to make that required you to know anything about the characters or world.
