Anyone Know About Windows 8?

I'm just curious because I plan to get a laptop over the coming weeks, but they all seem to come with Windows 8. it looks quite weird and a big step from my current Windows XP OS. Anyone know if it's easy to use?
I am also interested if the options and settings are easy to use because I plan to use the wireless broadband I got and hope the settings to enable the hub are simple to locate.

My dad installed 8 on his and mom's laptop and honestly, I'm not fond of it. Too many frills for my tastes, all the menus and navigation through everything just to find the off button.

Yeah, it did sort of look like a bigger Windows Phone menu actually. But the shops only do Windows 8 Laptops and things now >:c

Also, if you play cd-based computer games, they might not work on windows 8. I'm staying with 7 because my Roller Coaster Tycoon 2 won't support 8.

Ah. I don't actually have any PC games. I prefer console gaming myself. Thanks for the warning though, it usually tends to be the case with new OSs.

True, but I dun have Windows 7 myself. I guess I can see how it goes and maybe ask at the store about the basics. Kinda want it to possibly Livestream and things.

Uhmm, the one im getting has a trial for Norton 360 i am going to the shop so will ask about that there.

Well its pretty new with its new coding and stuff so a lot of things aren't programmed for 8 yet, if you play like certain online games and what not they might not work yet so :S

I don't really play games online, though thinking of trying steam. I did get shown it a bit at the store and was quite fun. Very happy you don't have to use the app part of it :3
