Fur Suit building and practice commissions this year
13 years ago
This year I want to try to practice fur suit building…
I have already done a lot of things in art, sculpturing and most importantly textiles so this to me is just using these art forms to make something different.
I want to make some partial suits based mostly on the cost of materials used and the shipping (postage and packaging). Ah, you'll have to wait until you see my current one furred and shaved I'm trying to incorporate my yarn technique into the fur for intricate markings without having to cut materials making it look more realistic.
Partials include:
A head
Hand paws
A tail
This does not include:
Foot paws (these are optional, I understand that all shoes fit differently and that shoe sizes can be bigger or smaller than you say so I'm going to work out what I want to do with this in the future.) -it is subject to change.
I try my best to get samples and source fur from sellers within the UK although I can buy fur from abroad this can be sometimes pricer if you consider taxes.
I won't be offering any cheap suits until I get my first one done, while these may not be the best, I think they may be good starter suits to practice fur suiting in until you move onto full suiting (if you plan to). :)
More info soon! I'm having so much fun!
Any little bits of profit made from this will just go towards more tools or to pay back for the tools I use to make the suits. xD
i think I'll only try and do one slot at a time. x3

I'm a little bit of a stressy perfectionist at times haha. xD
I'm working on guard hair and brindle detailing without air brushing, it's interesting. ^^
We'll see, not sure if anyone would be interested much but I think they won't be as bad as some I've seen (which don't resettable the animal they're meant to)! XD
Must stay optimistic!
It's all a bit of fun. ^^
I've enjoyed foaming my own fur suit head… just waiting on furrrr~!
Done lots of textiles before so it shouldn't be half bad. I hope. haha.
i admire your fursuit, it's fun making things yourself. :3
I have year to get the white fur… I also have to decide whether I want to airbrush the black or just get black material for it too… but it's not soft enough looking. xD
Yeah you do! I felt a big sense of achievement when I finished my first yarn tail (basically a big bushy tail made of yarn…quite realistic hehe). ^^
I wanted to move onto a partial going on from yarn tails because I like a bit of a challenge!!
For now as I've said before I'll just admire everyone else's suits hehe.
The development of my character is slow because I'm a poor girl haha. xD
Too poor to buy a compressor right now so it'll be propellants right now.
A lot of people like to practice on paper or board first which makes sense, I know I'll probably mess up but it's all part of it haha.
Sewing tails is much easier, it also doesn't give you severe hand cramps haha.
I might do more sewn tails too… but I love the realistic look and might do a few more first.
Yeah, rushing is bad…it'd be crappy and done by now if that's what I wanted! But it's not.
Yeah, I'm a poor girl so it's being done slowly when I have the money haha, I don't work because no-one wants me no matter how many CVs I had in.
Wow, that's a long time haha, I only procrastinate over the little things, the main bit is over for me… it'll just be getting the fur to look right now, I'm thinking of adding in extra fur wefts and brindle detail to the fur myself because I can't find fur like what I want… I just have to shave it aster so it's all the same length. xD
Do you think you'd make any more fur suits in the future?
