LOGBOOP.EXE INITIATED. WIGGLEBUTT.DLL SUSPENDED FOR USER SAFETY.
Well, it looks like 2012 is long gone, AND WE'RE STILL HERE BABY! I can't say I am surprised by the news; the Mayans never really had a "loop year," so their calendar actually ended about 87 years ago. If only somebody pointed that out... Aw, well! After staying up and partying when the ball fell on New Year's Eve, I was keenly aware that school was going to be just around the corner. It really hit like a train, too- one day I was burning peppermint incense and mooching on a chocolate Santa, and the next day I have to dash out of the house with 50 pounds of textbooks! Lucky, however, it's only going to be 2 measly days (today and tomorrow) of school before the weekends. That will make for a smooth transition... *AHEM* Anyway, as some of us may know, I am a diehard perfectionist, so thus I am liable to tweak my character every so often. This time around, I felt like doing a couple... interesting... things to him. Among the few little tweaks include...
A MORE SERPENTINE FORM: Doing a bit of research into pressure and energy expenditures, I found out that having a more formless body (no arms and legs) would constitute a more energy-efficient being, considering how the nanomachines have to support the form of them and also have to hang together when they are in movement. The solution? Make the black goo move fluidly! The result? My character moves around like a Chinese dragon! (or what-have-you)
LATIN AND METRIC TRANSLATIONS: I honestly liked how he was before; his English name and whatnot were definitely likable. However, I felt it to be more personal and convenient if he had a few adjustments to his "data." First of all, I took his name (WWhiteSShadow) and converted it into Latin. (AAlbusUUmbra) I did this because Latin is sort of a universal language, (mostly in science) and also has a lot of early Christian roots, which matches him given that he is a strict adherent to the Historical Christian faith. Second of all, I decided to measure him in the metric system because it is more universal and "proper" than using something as native and exclusive as American units. Plus, AAlbusUUmbra isn't even American; he is the Empero- WHOOPS! I mean, "IMPERATOR" of a whole different IMPERIUM.
A MORE EPIC VOICE: Let's face it- if you had unlimited power, (physical, psionic, and political) then you should at least act the part. LESS FLASHY POWERS: I have managed to stay true to this for quite a long time; I have never really exhibited or conceived AAlbusUUmbra as the type who would flex his psionic powers, seeing how much energy it would waste. However, I have slipped up on occasion. In the name of efficiency, I will try harder not to make people's heads asplode. Instead, I will focus on things more along the lines of absorbing life force, cutting off synapses, hacking and shutting down machines, and generally causing total mayhem while using as little effort as possible.
LESS REALISM... MAYBE: Going back to psionic powers, such a high level of supernatural aptitude gives him the ability to defy the laws of physics, create and destroy matter, and just plain break reality. Why not turn his Imperium into a giant trip? As awesome as it would be, I am a little unsure of just how possible that would be, even with his sheer power.
MORE REALISM... MAYBE: Seeing what is actually possible, it is really sad to look back and see AAlbusUUmbra being more epic than I could ever hope to achieve. I can understand the psionics, but just how advanced or powerful he can make the scientific advancements is... sketchy at best. I am still pretty stingy about adding realism to him, however, seeing just how easy it is to apply "Tim Taylor technology" to him...
