The Hobbit
I'm starting a war for peace.
Well just got out from watching the Hobbit 1 of 3 movies, very well done movie. I've decided to overlook the slight discrepancies because let's face it movies never follow the books for much but still it was well done. I enjoyed getting to see Sylvester McCoy (7th Doctor from Doctor Who) as Radagast the Brown, had a slight little nod to his DW character.
Of course while watching the movie I had my Mystery Science Theatre 3000 side boil up and I just ad-libed in my mind at a few spots, I have come to also notice Peter Jackson has ran out of some ideas and as a joke he placed the popular "Wilhelm Scream" in the movie to the most unlikely character to utter the scream in movie history. I also said in my mind at the end of the movie as the company stand on a rock face and off in the far distance stands the Lonely Mountain home of the dwarves and I said to myself,
"So the dwarves live at Paramount Studios?"
Because that's what it sort of reminded me of, the Paramount logo. Anyway if you haven't watched the Hobbit yet do it. Do it! If you liked the LOTR series or fantasy based movies in general you've got to give the Hobbit a watch. My friend is the manager of the theatre and before I headed in to the theatre he told me, "You know it's Tolkien's birthday today?" I knew there was a special reason to watch the movie today, that and it was also Sir Ian McKellen's birthday today as well!
