Conventions and art contest update

Hello! How's everyone doing? I'm doing alright. I finally got my BS in Computer Science and I'm job searching now. It's pretty overwhelming. I've been trying to do more art and I'm regretting my old decision to split up my galleries, because as my artistic style develops, I find myself turning even commissions and gift pictures into things I'm proud of. So it's possible in the future I'll merge my galleries back together. Who knows!
I'm trying to decide if I should do any conventions this year. Every year I go to Balticon and I put work in their art show. I thought it might be interesting to attend a con more as a dealer and less as just a... goer. Otakon is a couple miles down the road from me so that's always a possibility, but I don't really like anime and Otakon is so big! I think I might get overwhelmed. But still, I wonder if it's a good idea to try it. I'm also considering selling at Anthrocon, in their dealer room... yes, yes, I know. :P It would be well within my budget and it isn't that far to travel. So my question is this: has anyone ever attended either of these cons? Either selling or just attending. What was your experience? I have been to both cons in the distant past but I don't remember them well. Do you think my leather gear would sell well? I would offer a lot of small things like bracelets and trinkets, then larger and fancier things like bags, bracers, and leather-bound journals. And collars of course, since those seem to be in style at these sorts of cons. :P
Also, remember I'm holding my art contest! http://www.furaffinity.net/journal/4169377/
I have been considering offering alternative prizes for people who don't play Furcadia. It wouldn't be cash, but it might be paintings, trades, or custom leather gear. If you're interested in joining the contest and you'd want an alternative prize, send me a note. :)

Your leather stuff would do superbly well at AC, particularly if you make a bunch of collars and things with animal designs and/or pentacles on them. AC is enormous though so you might end up running out of wares to sell (don't undersell yourself, your leather stuff is fantastic!), but you can always draw badges and whatnot, too.
AC would be much more expensive to go to.,, cheaper table, but transportation and hotel, bleh. The glory about Otakon is I wouldn't need a hotel room. But the more I consider AC, the better an idea it seems! I could do a bunch of low tier stuff like little bracelets with generic pawprints and leaves and stuff. My friend goes to AC every year so I could travel with her and whatnot. She gave me some ideas for wares, too... just fun and harmless furry stuff (like little keychains that have pawprints and stuff and say "certified deer/wolf/bear/dumb dog thing/etc"). I also want to make XL collars for fursuiters! I do fear running out of stuff... can't do leather in the hotel room and all. But yeah, you're right! I can always bring drawin' stuff! (And thank you. <3)
And I dunno if I could do 2 cons, either. That would be so crazy stressful. So I gotta chooooose.
I wouldn't reccommend hugging anyone at either venue, though.
OHGOD LATE NIGHT YAOI. THE HORROR. I went to Otakon once in the far distant times but it was mostly just to meet a Furc friend, so it was fine. I didn't even stay past, like, 5 pm or something. I feel like I would do pretty well at Otakon, especially since I could go home each night and make more stuff (to some small extent) but it's still sort of a tossup. I am leaning more towards AC now, yes... Especially because my buddy plans EVERYTHING so I don't need to worry about it. :D And because doing cute gratuitous furry pawprint stuff is going to be fun and satisfying. But I do gotta decide soon. Thanks for the tips!
I plan on wearing something that makes me hug resistant. <_< I'm sure the vast majority of people are fine (and in fact, the time I went to AC, the vast majority of even the SUITERS were fine) but... trust levels are NOT THERE LOL. I also need something to wear. If I can get a suit of armor done in time, that'd be the best. Mo' spikes, mo' better.
PS: I am redesigning Ferrow soon and need to shower you with money to make me arts. Yes?
Hnghgh I saw you uploaded a bunch of new Ferrow pics to RPR and I cringed at the old terrible ones I did. I should def do some less-crummy ones for you sometime
Dude I love every single one you have every drawn for me. EVEN THE VERY FIRST BADGE-ISH ONE. But I am going to be turning him into a stag instead of a dog sometime in the future. With purple eyes and maybe differently-styled wings, I dunno yet.
I.. I can't comprehend this imagery
I like it!
I will help you plan these things, and signage and what not because i crey.
