Good luck, Ferobird. I did a little military time at your same age. I hated it at the time-- big interruption to getting on with life. But worth it if you are getting your schooling paid for. The environment was not too intellectual and I generally dislike authority, particularly when they are morons who insist on you doing something the wrong way. Hopefully your command is more intelligent than mine was. I'll miss your feedback and new sexy pictures, so hurry back!

Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of, but I can't say before I've spent some time there.

As I said, I should be able to stay in contact here even while I am there, our day ends at 18:00 after which we have free time, but the first 2 weeks will have very limited if any free time.
So I can keep giving you feedback and such here, but I won't be able to post much art during the next 6 months.

Yeah, I got no problems following authority who knows what he is doing and does it well, but if it's some pretentious idiot, then it might get annoying. At least this doesn't interrupt my life really, I wouldn't have anything else for the next 6 months, but I do lose the free time to draw porn and do other fun stuff with I kinda hate. I'd imagine myself being much better with drawing in 6 months (compared to what I've managed to achieve in 4), but because of this I'll probably be at the same level of skill as when I leave now.

Oh well, good thing we have someone to fill that gap of feral bird sex. So, you keep on practicing! There are a lot of nice people who you can ask for opinions, like Colinstu, Auspex and Noxal to name just a few. (Noxal LOVES a good talon shot or talon licking, I promised him to mention that to you, but he is a hard guy to please!)

Just take your time and do a good job while you're there. Try to focus on things there and not focus on how much it interrupts your life and art, if possible. Hopefully that'll help the time pass faster....

Great positive attitude, faunophilia! I did enjoy the "school" part of my military time (radio maintenance and repair). I'm always up for learning something new and potentially useful. The regular Army training sergeants were professional and I got into great physical shape too. And how many people get to through a few hand-grenades in their life?? :D It was when I got back to my "home" National Guard unit that the morons came out. It's awesome that you get to go home all the time too-- I was shipped off, stripped of all possessions, and thrown in with a bunch of strangers for boot camp. The best we could hope for was a few letters home!
