Oh wow, where in South Africa do you reside? That's the #1 place I've always wanted to visit so I can do field studies on the wildlife :)

I'm in Cape Town, so sadly no elephants or hyenas roaming around, but we do have some crazy looking birds and chameleons in the garden, and a cheetah sanctuary nearby I intend to visit. They actually let you hold the cheetah cubs, which no one would ever do in America because you know someone's dumb kid would pull a cheetah's tail, get scratched, and the parents would sue the place off the face of the earth LOL

That's awesome!! Hopefully once I finally get to Africa I'll be able to work/volunteer at a sanctuary like that :)

Wlep, I'm a temporary citizen right now, will hopefully be getting my dual-citizenship, and who knows where I'll end up - but I quite like it here. The house is old but it's freaking HUGE with a gorgeous view and a indoor pool.

I suspect the programme's creators are of the belief that everyone there is too busy either hunting, hiding from, or just trying desperately to ignore the sorts of wildlife portrayed in the series, to bother watching perhaps?

Geez, I only have to swim through a river of crocodiles and wrestle a rhino to get to the grocery store, it's not THAT primitive.
