i plan on this new year a new start for me so far its going great but how ever i plan on a job for the army national guard. i applied for part time just 1 weekend a month and my mom isn't to happy about it. i told her it isn't a big deal but she's freaking out about it. what you think i should tell her? i gave it my best....

Tell her you're an adult and it's your choice whether she likes it or not. She doesn't have to be happy with your decision, but she should be respectful to you about it.

That's another thing you can tell her. You'll be able to jump start your career, and that's something your mother should be happy for.

There isn't likely to be a war with Obama in office. She wouldn't be a mom if she wasn't concerned about you going into the military. Tell her about all the government benefits you will get.
