Evolution Is Complete
Hey all, I just want to say that today I very proudly finished the last word in my story "Evolution: Part I." OK, the story isn't really complete, but it is broken into two Parts. Part I is finished at last after over a year of writing. Like usual, most of that time was spent on hiatus, but over the last few days, I surged past those mental blocks and finished that last 15% or so that needed doing.
Overall, I'm happy with the story. I'm happier with this than I was at the ending of "A Night at the County Fair." The ending may still be a little rushed, but not to the degree that Stranded or ANCF was. It is a little monologue-y, and perhaps it delves too much into philosophy where it doesn't need to, but for a story like this (WG fiction) I'm not going to take the time to go back and make a lot of cuts. What I can tell you is that there is an excellent story here and I managed the character arc of the protagonist in a really dynamic way. And obviously there's lots of great description of overweight canines ^^
Obviously, you should be asking yourself questions as you work your way through this piece. I'm not telling you the answers in Part I, but all of the foundation is here. Mostly, this is the story of Topsy and how he grows into adulthood. The hows and whys of his existence are to be answered in Part II.
Part II is utterly unwritten at this time and I don't plan on getting started right away. Theories and comments and speculation are welcome and encouraged, but I do have a basic plan in place. Part II is likely to be shorter than Part I and will take place inside the laboratory itself and Topsy will learn more about why things are the way they are and why he was born the way that he is.
Feel free to tell me what you think about Part I. I appreciate all feedback, no matter how negative. I'll never learn unless you tell me what you don't like. There are about forty chapters and I plan on releasing five a day until all of it is posted. I don't want to make the mistake of scaring away readers with a huge text doc. But if anyone wants the full document I'm happy to email it to you.
Thank you again for reading everyone and I hope you enjoy this work of fiction as much or more than my previous works.

Your writing is so well done, the stories are clearly not realy but you really make them seem like it could possibly happen.
thank you for sharing so much so and creating a wonderful story
Being a fan of watership downs and plague dogs, and other such novels. I gotta say this has been a very wonderful read
And while i was saddened by many moments (tugging at my heart's strings so masterfully) overall it was a delightful story if because of the full range of experiences. I am anxious to find out where the door leads and lopsided above any of the others was my favorite fellow. But given his personality and traits, there wasn't a whole lot more for him to do in the story i guess.
As for what's behind the door... Well, you wouldn't want me to spoil Part II before I've even written it yet =P
Thank you again for putting so much effort in to sharing this world you've created, let alone sharing it.
I'll be waiting for future stories and chapters.
