Start watching KH: Chain of Memories, it will say what happens next. If you watch KH2 next you will be even more confused.
At the end of KH Riku and Mickey keep the darkness from being let, Sora gets thrown off somewhere, and Kairi lives on the island without Riku and Sora she forgets about them because of what happens in Chain of Memories.
