Huh? I have a Evga 8800gtsc, and I've run both of my monitors off it at once before, ones a 22in DVI, and the other is a 17in VGA.
I just had to use an adapter.

i run an 8800gts with a 42\" hdmi native tv using the dvi adapter, and a dvi native 21\" lcd monitor on mine and they run fine, i do know those cards dont run dualview well. but the only issue i ever had was trying to use the older analogue dvi adapter on the tv over the newer digital ones. how to tell, when holding the plug ( dvi adapter ) with the curves facing dow, there is a small horizontal contact on the left side in the pin-out plug, if there are no pins ( normally just 4 of them ) surrounding the horizontal contact is called dvi-i or integrated ( both analogue and digital ) if it doesnt have the pins surrounding the flat contact its dvi-d or digital only. If yer tv is an older one ( pre 2004 ) there is the possibility its only got a dvi-d or dvi-a connector. most newer tvs just started to come out with the dvi-i connection capability. I used an adapter. The problem is with my video card not sending a signal to any monitors anymore. Tried it with 2 lcds, 1 crt and 1 tv, all to no avail. It just doesn't send an input signal. Those 4 devices all work perfectly with other pcs though.

ahhh ok it sounds like a faulty ramdac then, ( unless the card literally screams at you when you turn on the pc ) thats something my card was rma'ed for about 3 times. yer best bet is to upgrade to something else ( if possible ) the 8800 tho many peeps have had good luck with them . . . . are basically just woe inducing cards >.< i stuck with a 7950gx2 till just a few weeks ago when i baught an ati radeon hd 4870. now i love my nvidia cards but lately i notice they havent been playing nice with my amd optimized boards . . .even the newer ones with nv chipset. plus i like that i can throw my two radeons into crossfire mode while using the nvidia board n.n even the older msi k9n diamond. if this idiot i know of would let me know if he is buying my 7950gx2 i could prolly cut ya a great deal on it . . . but im just bleh about doing that. plus its somewhat of a downgrade ( least in quality not performance ) to yer current card. its an sli in one socket card, has 1gig of ram but only utilises 512 until sli is enabled. it has been an extremely stabile card, no matter what i threw at it, that card is a beast if tweaked properly. After tweaking i got 32 frames constant on crysis at medium settings, and 25-30 on high, dx9 version obviously. tho it wasnt yer monitor, the the gts cards were the gt's that failed their own level of testing for some reason or another, so they were spec'ed down and sold as a gts if the gts level of testing passed. Nvidia has done that fer yrs, i used to mod my cards all the time to the next up model to get the extra performance from the low end c6ards, some success but not always. LOL anywho i hope you can get squared away soon n.n i have had to live without my pc a few times fer a month or more . . . LOL that was hell.

Very odd... DVI Was specifically designed to be backwards compatible for VGA, and carry all the right signal pins.

Oh well - May be someone's way of telling you you need a HDTV with a DVI to HDMI Adaptor.

remover card , start up pc without card , get buzz or beep sound , switch off , reinsert card , restart pc again , if the card does not show anything on screen replace if it shows in the bios but not windows run safemode uninstall drivers , restart pc with default drivers and reinstall the updated drivers.
