I am about ready to throw in the towel here...
I have been working for three weeks off and on (about 12 total hours at this point) with a SINGLE sketch of ONE character with NO background... something that would take any other artist 30 minutes AT MOST to complete... and it still looks like crap and isn't even 2/3 completed.
At this point I've about had it. Nothing I do improves my work at all whatsoever. I watch others draw, effortlessly and flawlessly placing line after line in extreme detail without even hesitating much less using any proportion guides at all. I'm completely dumbfounded and amazed at how this is even possible. I couldn't begin to do something like that even if I had all the art training in the world.
I draw, and re-draw, and re-draw, and re-draw over and over the same lines, trying to place them where they fit properly, and only after hours upon hours of minute adjustments am I finally able to get the line right. Then it's on to the next one, and oftentimes new lines necessitate the readjustment of old lines. On and on this goes, in a vicious, seemingly neverending cycle. I don't know how to break the cycle.
I KNOW what I want to see in my head, but it NEVER translates worth a damn to the paper/canvas in front of me.

And yeah, when I get to a point I feel good enough to do so... I may start on a long-term drawing tutorial book designed specifically for people who are just starting out. No skipping steps, no foundation of art knowledge needed. Everything from start to finished fully and completely explained. :3
I've been working on one particular piece myself for well over 3 months.
Have you tried downloading DAZ3D, it's a poser program tht enables you to create poses.
also the perfect series two authors http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/.....?vendor=Xameva and http://www.renderosity.com/mod/bcs/.....p?vendor=meipe
I have seen some others but those seem fairly robust
By the way, some of the links on some items there are broken but some admins repost them and gotta have to be quick. However, the other site, has links that work

Use ref images, there is no shame to use ref images :3 Lear to be less hard yourself, trust me i feel sometimes too that god im so bad!! there is no progress on myself at all..If you have like VERY old images, look one of those and re draw that. You might be suprises how much you have improved from that point where you are now :3
Also sometimes it makes good just put all pens away and jsut give yourself brake from drawing, too stressed on doing someting you should enjoy wont help out at all :3
I wish you good luck and dont give up, even greate artist have art block and horrible days, but i guess they dont want share it so often or show it in fraid customers go eek XD her or she cant make this!!
I'll try the 1-minute gesture sketches like you said, that may help I don't know :/
That way you can pose as you like and then render it.

I don't know if it's compatible with Victoria 4.2 but I know it works on v4.0 and v4.1

This never works.
Going back and correcting linework over and over again detracts from the practice of making lineart in the first place, and would only frustrate you. All I can advise is DO NOT correct your lineart. Keep continuing with the rest of the image. If a minor change does need to be fixed after that, then fix it, but don't go completly re-drawing the picture.
You should be getting lineart practice by drawing LOTS of lineart, not by re-doing one picture several times. Your skill will develop over time better that way.
I would recommend studying practice. Study how muscles work, how bones work. All you can do is practice and keep practicing. Study different body types and study faces. Even if you're drawing human faces, getting your proportions right should help. Because without the basics of art, it's really hard to go any further and it's like pushing yourself through physical therapy without help. You don't understand what you're doing and could potentially end up doing more harm than good. Such as learning bad drawing habits and so on.
I could do a potential redline for you once I get back to my computer but maybe for now it will help where I see some things. We'll start with the face. Her face seems out of proportion and her smile is rather cartoonish and can draw away from the sexual appeal you're trying to convey. If you're looking for a more sexual face, I'd recommend looking up facial expressions on humans. The lips are also rather odd shaped. the bottom lip isn't typically flat and rounded on the sides like that and top lips usually curve in. The bad thing about putting lips on furries is it often reads wrong for the viewer. Sometimes art is all about putting lines to accentuate rather than flat out bold lines of what the item is supposed to be. Her neck is rather short and appears to be sunk into her chest. Even with her arm up like that, you would see something more like this: NSFW WARNING http://nakedprettygirls.com/nipples....._legs_wide.jpg
Since her shoulders are too high, it makes her torso too long. The legs look OK length wise but the legs seems almost awkward. I'll often lay on the floor next to my desk and do the poses personally. I understand every one is going to be different because of flexibility but it's more of what you're trying to convey to a majority of people. So if the pose looks awkward from an outside perspective, it's going to come off weird to the eyes.
Her butt seems rather long and for the view, her vulva too high which then makes her lower half seem off. Heres a similar pose to yours that I found: NSFW WARNING http://www.perfectnaked.com/galleri.....bed/10_big.jpg
And lastly it's all about the detail. Sometimes using accurate refs for your work cant vastly make a different from drawing you foot pads the way you to, compared to an actual rabbits foot.

Adding in some realism into your art can make a huge difference. practice makes perfect and even if you're using different refs for one piece and looking at them as you draw, theres nothing wrong in that. Just have to keep trying and do your best to draw what you see. Once you've learned to draw what you see, drawing from memory because easier.
Hope this helps!

I can, however, very much use your suggestion about the neck as well as about the pose itself and positioning. Even though I do plan on having the character laying crossways on a wingback chair with her head on one armrest and her butt propped up on the other, the angle of the butt as you said may very well be wrong even under that condition. It may be best I go ahead and loosely sketch the background out and figure things out with the butt from there.
I guess I now realize that for this particular piece I'm working on, I might have been unknowingly trying to push myself too hard to nearly match the art style because, at least to me, half of what makes a character discernible is the style it was drawn in. And I know it can be done, because animators used to do it all the time back when things were drawn by hand in cartoons. However, in this case, I'm pretty sure it's not a good idea. I guess if my drawing ends up looking like a totally different character it'll be good enough :P
And as far as red-lining is concerned, that's entirely up to you if you want to do so and have the time ^.^
Thank you! This is the most helpful post I've gotten! :D
A key thing to remember is people commission us for our style and if they're not and they're just coming to you for someone elses style for a cheaper price, thats just insulting to you. Try to keep the character intact but also keep her within your own means.
Also since shes meant to be sitting in a chair rather than laying down that can change the pose than from what I showed you. I'll hunt for another ref closer to what you had been looking for but then yeah, that would place her vulva up higher but then you'd also see her ass cheeks flatten because shes sitting on something. The only thing is it wouldn't be such a severe angle, like if someone was croutched downa nd looking at her vulva you would see that top ridge like this:
http://www.amateurindex.com/galleri.....-spread-15.jpg
See how it has that ridge im talking about? Since shes sitting on something, you wouldn't see the ridge because where the spine meets the hips, doesn't bend that severe. So you'd see a much smoother transition from tummy to vulva such as:

All these teen keywords make me laugh because honestly, none of these girls are teens.
For me I always go from character to background and never the other way around but everyone works different and if that helps you, then by all means, do it.
Thank you so much for all of this, it's very very helpful ^.^
Might be a good idea, at least when it comes to Doodles lol
