I have sued UPS many times for failed service, I am now a Black slip member of UPS, just takes a lawyer to get things right.

Would a private delivery company be something youd be willing to pay a premium for better quality of service?

Depends on the speed, private business should be quality paying a premium doesn't really matter if the work quality and speed are crap. Remember we live in a I want it all and I want it now world. premium means better than the rest.

I've owned two business ventures, one a Constuction contractor and one a auto garage delivering parts and or fixing vehicles etc. it's alot of red tape and paperwork to get the basics down and then you have to make sure it's going to be viable in your area etc.

I will try to give you advice as you need it feel free to ask.

Well, oddly, ups has been good when you follow the packing rules. Actually so has Fed-Ex, I think they both say 'survive 2 6' drops on every corner and side. I've shipped very fragile items to Germany and Australia and lots of places around the US, if its very valuable or fragile it gets some special packing. I think double boxing and compressed peanuts seems to work well or foam in place. I have recieved many packages with damaged items and not one of those was even close to being packed right, worst was a 100lb ups wrapped in a shipping blanket and placed in a single layer cardboard box 1 inch larger all around than the component, of course every corner was bashed.

Starting your own business can be a great learning experience, and if you have more than yourself, you'll need workmans comp insurance and some hefty liability.

Starting things slow and working my way larger gradually would be a better option I'd think.

Not like this is really any decent input, but I could see you taking on jobs, ala the Transporter... just replace the 7-series with your Accord... hehe.

Haha... definitely kind of a hoot. Starting out as a courier service might be a decent way to go. I'm assuming your Accord is about the same size as my 5-series... I've been able to fit a rather large amount of stuff in there. It also served as a flower delivery vehicle in a pinch when my job's delivery van took a crap on us. Finished out the day with flower arrangements strapped into the seats and balloons carefully placed in the trunk.

Interior is stripped clean. It has even more luggage space now and with no rear seats. It is amazing what I can fit in it now, as if it wasn't already before.

Wow, okay. Yeah, that'll give you significant amounts of room. Was there any particular reason other than hauling stuff to strip out the interior?

More cargo room, and decreased weight means better mpg and slightly quicker. But those are bonuses. I just did it for the cargo room. However an added bonus is that I canoe only have one passenger!

That definitely does help. Not like I really have other people riding with me, but I enjoy, well, spirited driving... and that's hard to do with other people in the car bitching. :P
