If you use any texture pack (not just mine) you can use this to convert your chosen texture pack to the upcoming minecraft 1.5 format:

When 1.5 hits, Minecraft will look for textures in a different folder, as individual files. This means that if texture pack authors are lax in updating their texture packs, users of the packs will see Vanilla textures instead of that annoying pink, or whatever the default color was on the texture pack sheet.
In short, this means you can enjoy out of date texture packs without having to wait for their update or endure funny looking graphic effects on the new items.
