Ive been asked by a few people recently if i am open for commissions. I have read your notes and im not ignoring them. I have been considering opening for them recently because im going to be honest...I really could use the financial help. A lot of things have happened in my personal life lately that were completely out of my control and most of them impacted me financially pretty hard. I dont really want to get into it in a public forum but i will say that im paying for someone else's mistakes. Ive been stressed out and frustrated which has impacted my desire to draw and be creative. For a while i even considered asking for donations to help me make ends meet because i see so many others do it but i didnt think anyone would care enough and i didnt want to sound like i was begging. Especially with how little art ive produced lately.
Point is, im trying to get back into the swing of things and i do want to open for commissions but im struggling to decide what i should charge. Im going to be honest i dont think im a top tier artist here on fa but i do try my very best to satisfy a wide audience and give people what they want when it comes to commissions. I also work very hard on them and dedicate a lot of my free time when ido work on pieces for people. Several days sometimes which can be anywhere from 10-30+ hours of work. I normally start my prices low around 15$ or so for inks and when you divide that up by the amount of time i put into the pictures im working for pennies. A lot of artist do this so im not trying to say im a special case. What im trying to ask is i need some input on what people think my work is worth. I need a general idea because right now im hurting pretty bad financially and i would really appreciate the help and input. Ive been putting this off so long because im afraid the moment i raise my prices no one will commission me anymore.

I'm sorry to hear you're stressed out, though. I know those are the WORST conditions to work under, creatively.
I don't know about anyone else but I wouldn't mind donating a few bucks your way. I know we all have our bad times and the last thing I'd wanna do is add to your stress.
I just always liked your style, and it sucks not seeing new stuff from ya.
But I mean if you get back into the swing of things and/or want a signal boost, I'm here.
Anyway, as far as pricing, hmm, 15 for sketches, maybe 30 for color, inks could be inbetween somewhere and shading could be a little extra too I suppose. Kinda depends what you feel is worth it. X3 I could probly go for a sketch or two myself sometime soon here. X3
All the best, C
