Why?

Why do people feel obligated to try and push their beliefs onto others? Everyone thinks they've got things figured out, that's just human nature, but how freaking arrogant do you have to be to think that others ought to think like you? You're nothing, man, ignorant and small. You're gonna die and be forgotten, and even if that weren't the case, do you really wanna be remembered as that pushy asswipe who was always trying to impose his worldview onto others?
NO ONE GIVES A SHIT. GET OVER YOURSELF.

There. My belief. :3
What´s wrong? What happened? *sits down next to you *
Basically, I'd have to know what your definition of pushing beliefs on others is before I could say I agree or disagree with you. My definition of "pushing" would be the use of force or intimidation to convince somebody to convert to my viewpoint. Or to continue arguing the point when my interlocutor(s) have clearly said they are not interesting and have asked me to stop. These cases I would consider pushing beliefs onto others. But merely trying to argue and convince others of your point of view is not pushing and is not wrong.
Btw, your argument here is fallacious and commits a form of the ad populum fallacy among others. Also the fact that an individual is small in the grand scheme of things and will die and be forgotten is completely irrelevant to whether what he or she says is in fact true.
Why you would think that I care whether or not you agree with me or whether my definition of "pushing" coincides with yours, I won't say. I will state, however, that this habit of aggressive argumentation is rude and incredibly grating. Either leave it at the door or take it elsewhere.
