Treuth be told, should not be that expensive.. As it's mostly just a head and a thick flexy tail. The tail you can buy for likly less then 250L

The head mght be hard.. BUt some simple texturing of a lusk would sufice.. If not... There are som people that you can hit up in world.

Prims are alittle more clunky looking, but fater over all to work with. And you as a person can edit them after the fact should you need.

Sclupties are more free to shape, tho after there made, that generly it in terms of editablity.

Hmm.. Might consider getting the AV then from them and then modding it to order.. Tho I don't think they have felines.. I've never shoped... Have a look. hen of course you could make tweeks. Opis does some sick slpty work. Vallory is geat with prims.
